2008 Soul Cycle Summary
The year of 2008 has been a big year of change in the collective of mankind. This is out picturing locally, nationally and worldwide. The inaugural point of Soul Cycle was in Feb. and it asked all its participants to begin to move with all the big changes in their lives. The human story has shown how we do not change easily and we resist this change into the unknown or unfamiliar. We often do not change unless pushed into it. Coming into the dance we willing gave ourselves to looking at this deeply and I believe it helped all to move more easily and swifter. Just dancing this first dance we started to experience the other questions that naturally arose as we faced change. Suffering is felt when we resist change and sometimes we don’t change until we suffer. Once there is surrender into change joy can be experienced which naturally flows into service to share this joy.
There is a lot of old habits, ideals and perceptions dying out and leaving our world, as we know it. New ideas are waiting to come in and by the end of 2008 had started to manifest. Local as well as world economics are failing. World leaders are being humbled and everyone is being brought down to an equal playing field. Long time suffering and hardship is being expressed and it is no longer possible to sweep it under the rug. Lies, deceits and greed are getting called on to the floor and named for what it is. Fear and propaganda are not swaying people. People are making decisions based on their heart. As the year started to wind down the US elected the 1st Afro-American President to office. This man is already striving to bring unity. He is asking the public how the government can best serve them.
What a reflection of synchronicity for this dance. Whether the dance brought awareness up about this year, or the changes helped to call us to the dance or the dance helped the universe move into these changes, it doesn’t matter. It is the opinion of 4 of the main facilitators that this dance was helpful at a personal level. It helped to bring all the dancers into a larger consciousness. It helped to push all of us personally into a deeper more authentic expression moving past our dictating minds into our hearts. It was often surprising to witness what arose from our body song, sometimes not recognizing ourselves.
We had a different experience with each dance. Each dance had a different group of participants plus 4 of the 6 starting core developers. So in each dance you had a new catalyst (the question), a new season (rhythm), a new group of people (response and interaction) and a new evolution (each dance brought you through change). The last dance brought an incredible heart opening to it, a perfect conclusion. There were only 4 dancers present, the smallest and most intimate of the dances. The intimacy brought vulnerability and visibility to all the dancers soul and spirit. All the dancers came in to the dance contracted and opened up and out, connecting to so much more then words can express. The perception of the contraction was just the beginning of awareness of how big the universe is and how little we really play with its magnitude. One dancer fully opened to this vastness and her experience instantly affected us all.
The Soul Cycle has helped all of us become more engaged in life and more integrated into the fabric of the Universe. We have danced to understand, to create and dream, and to be danced, giving ourselves in total surrender. It has not been easy. We have all resisted and tried to control the dance. In the end we rested into the love that has always been there. It offers support and in this there is joy, peace and freedom. For what ever reason we can’t seem to stay in this remembrance and so tomorrow we will wake to once again go back into this dance to go deeper in understanding and personal growth.
