Tiaiki Definitions |
TiAiki TiAiki means "Tibetan secrets giving of the way of qi." This is a sysytem of energy awareness and understanding, handed down from a Tibetan monastery in Northern Tibetan (the Golden Phoenix Temple near Mongolia). This system of Taiqi, Qigong, Baqua, Shing-I and Kung fu helps to guide one into their own personal awareness of energy and how to use it with mindfulness and an open heart. This system combines a lot of different movement arts and meditations to guide one into personal awareness. The intent is to demystify the use of energy and the old secret teachings to make them more accessible to everyone. The studies encompass Martial Arts, knowledge of history and principles of energy, forms from many systems, energy study, and healing arts. Any one of these or all of these can be studied. back
qi Qi (chi) is the energy found in everything. It is the life force that gives life and existence to all things. back
Qigong Qigong (Chi Gong) is an internal art form or yoga. Qigong is the act of qi and qi exchange. It uses the breath and relaxation to begin to activate this exchange of qi. The exchange of qi helps to grow the awareness of qi and opening one self up to the continual flow of qi through ones body. This cultivation is accomplished through lying down, sitting, standing, and moving practices. Some of these practices are physical and some are more visual, using the mind to guide the energy. As one progresses in practice, the awareness of how energy is in all things in life and its continuous movement and change grows. The life flow, qi, grows strong in the body helping to strengthen and bring health. As the qi grows, the mind grows more positive giving a healthy attitude toward life. back

External Art Form An external art form trains the physical body, the muscles and the mind, to work together in unison. back
Taiqi Taiqi (Tai Chi) is an internal art form of moving meditation and martial art. It is designed to help one become aware of self, integrating the mind, body and spirit so you move as one. This in turn helps one to relax and be present. As one progresses with study the lower dantien is cultivated (three finger widths below the belly button). This then becomes the storehouse of qi. This is a very slow moving series of movements linked together with flow to create mindful attentiveness. back
Baqua Baqua is an internal art form of moving meditation and martial art. This moving form works with circles and circling, twisting and untwisting. The movements are designed to open the heart or middle dantien and to quiet the mind. These movements were also based on the Chinese system of change or the I-Ching. The movements help the mind to understand the continual change of the universe and to learn how to follow this flow and change without resisting. As one goes deeper, one can see the moving life force, qi, moving in circles and spirals. Life never moves in a straight line. At first in all seems like a maze, never really knowing where you are going and yet if you surrender to the heart it will take you to the right place. This helps the mind let go of control and begin to trust. back
Shing-I Shing-I is an internal art form of moving meditation and martial art. This moving form cultivates the upper dantien or third eye area. The intent of the form is to bring awareness to the mind leading the qi. When the mind is focused well the body relaxed and the qi is strong then the body is carried with ease into action. If you add the open heart to this, then the heart will guide the mind to focus the qi and life will become effortless. This art form helps one to experience the power of the mind. back
Kung fu Kung fu is an external art form to cultivate the mind and body working together. It is a disciple to strengthen the body and the mind, to help focus. It can help one to be strong and present. It can help one endure and yet not force. This is a martial art and can help one defend oneself. back
