Past Seminars at Phoenix Rising Center Since 1998 Phoenix Rising Center has sponsored Taiqi and Qigong seminars with master teachers from outside our community. The intent of these seminars is to broaden, refine, and inspire the students and will strengthen the learning process that is cultivated in our weekly classes. Ron Lew is the Grand Master of the TiAiki Tibetan system. He is an accomplished martial artist who has been studying and teaching Qigong, Taiqi, and martial arts for the past forty years. He has visited us several times for both teaching and testing of students who are training in the TiAiki lineage. He shares a unique blend of Tibetan internal energy work as well as Taiqi, and Old Man Kung Fu. He brings much laughter and playfulness into his weekend intensive seminars, while at the same time imparting profound wisdom. Master Li Jun Feng is the founder of the International Sheng Zhen Society and principle teacher of the Shen Zhen Wuji Yuan Gong. Teacher Li shares a lifetime of training and teaching in martial arts, including fifteen years as head coach of the People’s Republic of China National Wushu Team. He joyfully transmits the wisdom of Shen Zhen Wuji Yuan Gong in his commitment of global service of unconditional love. He offers a dynamic environment for anyone who wishes to learn a Qigong that will heal the body and emotions by opening up to one’s own perfect love found in the heart. Kim Ivy is the founder of Embrace the Moon Center which has been a dynamic resource offering Taiqi and Qigong in the Seattle Washington area for the past decade. She has trained with many prominent teachers in the martial Arts, Taiqi, Qigong, and Yoga over the past 27 years. She has developed many programs for those with special health concerns including Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease. Ortho-Bionomy® Seminar Ortho-Bionomy® is a gentle structural approach to bodywork that facilitates healing through self correction and self recognition by contact with the nervous system. The seminar will focus upon the spine, and will include neck (cervical), thorax & ribs (thorasic), lumbar spine, and the ilium & sacrum. Assessment through palpation will be followed by techniques and principles that will facilitate the body’s ability to self correct through the proprioceptive reflexes of the Nervous system. This seminar offers tools that will compliment Massage Therapists, bodyworkers, healers, and anyone who desires to expand and deepen their relationship with the innate wisdom of the body to heal through resourcing of itself.
Ortho-Bionomy® Seminar
Ortho-Bionomy® is a gentle structural approach to bodywork that facilitates healing through self correction and self recognition by contact with the nervous system. The seminar will focus upon the extremities, including knees, ankles, feet, elbows, wrists, and hands, as well as a simplified way to address the shoulders. Assessment through palpation will be followed by techniques and principles that will facilitate the body's ability to self correct through the proprioceptive reflexes of the Nervous system. This seminar offers tools that will compliment Massage Therapists, bodyworkers, healers, and anyone who desires to expand and deepen their relationship with the innate wisdom of the body to heal through resourcing of itself.
Ortho-Bionomy® Study Groups Ortho-Bionomy® study groups are ongoing and meet on a bi-monthly or as needed basis. These small classes are designed to review and integrate new material that was taught during the weekend workshops. Specific topics for review can also be requested by the students to deepen their understanding in a specific area. Study groups are 3 hours with a cost of $25.00. Credit for the study group is given for those in the Practitioner Training Program. Contact Catherine Shank to get dates and times of future study groups or to be placed on a mailing list.
