Sheng Zhen Healing Qigong
The Removal of Disease in Three Parts

This class is uniquely assessable for anyone with physical impairments since it is conducted in a chair. It will improve one’s current state of health and aid in the healing of illness. It offers a full cardiovascular "workout" Qigong style. The continual pumping and squeezing movements circulate blood, lymph, and cerebral-spinal fluid while strengthening the breath and increasing flexibility. In the first part, qi is gathered from the universe increasing qi and qi exchange. In the second part, the qi is cooked into the body cleansing and nourishing all the tissues, organs, and bones. In the third part, the internal source of spirit is freed, which opens the heart, stills the mind and helps one return to our original nature, which is love.

Meditation

This is a component in all of our classes. We offer several types of non-moving forms that still the mind, open the heart, and increase the exchange of qi. There are standing, sitting, and lying down postures.

In the classes that offer the TiAiki system of Tibetan internal arts, Holding the Tree is the basic standing meditation posture used along with over forty variations from this original form. The Horse Stance is applied here to directly strengthen the legs and encourage the student to surrender into the increasing movement and exchange of qi.

In the Sheng Zhen Wuji Yuan Gong classes there are two mediations offered. The Zhongtian Yiqi is a sitting meditation that means to "flow through freely". Its intent is to quiet the mind so one can connect within one self to Heaven, earth, and all humanity.

The Jiu Zhuan Zhen Dan, (Nine Turns Meditation) is done lying down so it can be practiced by those who are impaired physically. It involves the circulation of qi throughout the body to strengthen the body and mind.

Sheng Zhen Wuji Yuan Gong

Sheng Zhen means heavenly gift or unconditional love. Wuji describes the time before creation, before polar opposites that we have now. Yuan means original. This name reflects that this Qigong carries the original essence of the universe, love.

This is a Qigong class that helps to open the heart and pineal gland. It is good for the physical body and general health, good for the mind and emotions, and good for the spirit. These classes cover nine different forms including lying down, sitting, and standing Qigong. One starts by learning the physical movements, slowly synchronizing the body. Then one goes deeper by learning the messages of awareness to integrate the mind with the body. And last, one is guided into a Qigong state.

These classes are open to all ages, beginners as well as advanced. They are designed to help ease stress, open the heart, and help change one’s attitude to a positive, joyful expression. Classes are 1.5 hours long and run in eight weeks sessions. There is usually one week off between sessions and classes run through the whole year.

All classes explore simple Qigong exercises to begin to cultivate qi and meditation to help enhance focus and relaxation. This is a well-rounded class for learning self-awareness, relaxation and a good cardiovascular work out. Everyone learns at a pace and rhythm that is comfortable for the individual. Classes are 1.5 hours long and run in eight week segments. There is usually one week off between sessions and classes run through the year.

TiAiki Martial Arts

This class is for martial arts training and is built on the internal arts principles found in Taiqi, Baqua, Shing-I, and Qigong. The class weaves these principles into many other martial arts styles such as Hapkido, Aikido, Kung fu, Issinryhu, Askrima, Jujitsi, and Taekwondo. The intent is to simplify movement and increase efficiency and effectiveness.

These classes contain work in Qigong, meditation, sensing qi, working with and applying qi, and form concentration. Classes also include work in healing arts. These classes require some previous training in an internal arts such as Taiqi, Bagua, Shing-I, or Qigong for the basic foundation and language understanding. All ages are accepted. Teacher Training

Teacher training is designed for all those desiring to go deeper in one’s own learning and a chance to inspire self-awareness and pass on the wisdom of self-responsibility. Classes involve learning specific teaching skills, teaching awareness, sensitivity and communicating the details of form, movement and meditation. Training is also given to working with refinements of movements and studying the philosophy of the internal arts more deeply.

This class offers a great opportunity to share ideas and experiences with other teachers. Classes can help one gain more confidence and a bigger presence. Benefits in speaking clearly, seeing the main point in learning or teaching and communicating clearly and concisely are natural outcomes. These classes are only open to students that have been practicing the internal arts for two to three years or more. They are two hours long and set up bi-monthly.

Liu Dong's Method

Handed down verbally from generation to generation the Qigong practiced by the Liu family is a treasure that has recognized healing attributes. In 1990 Dr. Liu Dong and Master Liu He founded the Ling Gui (Spiritual Turtle) International Healing Qigong School with a commitment to the health, healing capabilities and spiritual development of all. They opened the first American branch in Seattle, Washington in 2002.

The method includes Liu family forms developed over generations and classical Chinese forms that have been handed down through the Liu family. In addition to the traditional benefits of Qigong — good health and longevity — the forms of the Liu Dong Method are healing forms that focus on particular parts of the body or aspects of healing, classified in China as Medical Qigong.

Dr. Liu Dong carried out intense study of both Chinese and Occidental medicine using Chinese Qigong tradition as a source of inspiration and practical experiments in clinical research as a guide. His work has received special attention from the Chinese Ministry of Health and is registered in the Official Repertory of Chinese Medicine, a text reserved for the most respected family systems of Qigong dating back 5000 years.

Movement Project

Through the moving body we have an opportunity to listen to a deep source of wisdom – ourselves. Anyone living in a body that moves, no matter what physical limitations we imagine, can tap into this source. When we witness our true nature with kindness and respect we have the opportunity to nurture creativity and be present in our daily lives. Movement Project is a process of playful exploration calling out this body wisdom into authentic expression.

Each Movement Project is an improvisation, a creative merging between the person, place and moment. Participants discover how their own body and spirit want to move and open channels of communication with the self. Utilizing movement games and free-form dance in an environment of play, support and openness we learn to witness our self and others with the heart.
